Topping the field was that man again, Eddie Rhodes! Eddie, who is rapidly gaining a reputation for being unbeatable at Woodside, drew peg 11 close to the point of the island. Opting to fish the pellet waggler for most of the match, Eddie found small carp in numbers before switching to his margins late on with meat to find some late bonus edge fish. Eddie ended the day offering 89-00-00 to the scales to confirm a narrow victory.

Finishing close behind in second place was Martin Stone, who drew peg 3 close to the opposite point of the island. Concentrating his efforts on the pellet waggler, Martin was also able to find small carp in number patrolling the upper layers to weigh in 86-04-00.

Third place on the day was taken by Frank Bradley, who drew peg 9. Fishing a small feeder tight to the island, Frank found odd patrolling carp to weigh in 33-00-00.
