Thirteen (13) anglers from the Green Man attended this Saturday club match on Woodside pool. Conditions on the day were quite muggy and humid with degrees exceeding 20 degrees despite plenty of cloud cover.
Taking honours on the day was Ali Cox, who drew fancied peg 3. Starting his match on pellet over to the island, Ali found small carp in numbers before switching to his margins late on with maggot over groundbait to find better quality fish to boost his final weight. Ali fished a great match to end proceedings with 132-00-00.
Second place was taken by Shawn Smith from neighbouring peg 5. Fishing paste in the margins for most of the match, Shawn found some real lumps to offer 108-00-00 to the scales.
Carl Stevens finished in third place from peg 15 on the dam wall. Fishing pellet and corn on a short pole, Carl found carp in numbers to weigh in 99-06-00.
Fourth place was occupied by Ade Westwood, who ended proceedings with 65-00-00. Ade caught on 6mm banded pellet and maggot over groundbait down his edge.
