Silvers League RD2, Island Pool

Saturday 21st October marked round two of our Siverfish League with competing anglers pegged on Island pool. Conditions on the day started off dry which, given the unprecedented amount of rainfall experienced during the previous 48 hours courtesy of storm Babet, was a blessing! Expectations going into round two were mixed with carp giving away their presence in some angler's edges before the match had even started and with the water also being very coloured - again, due to the rain.

Winner on the day and climbing his way to the top of the leaderboard was defending Champion, Max Galaszewski. Drawing peg 2 just through the gate, Max opted to fish caster short at 5m up in the water and found 29-03-00 of quality roach and perch (claiming the biggest perch pools prize also) in among carp and big F1s. Max fished an excellent match stamping his authority on the competition early on after missing out on round one and leaving the rest of the field trailing behind him on the day.

Second place was awarded to Josh Gaunt. Josh drew neighbouring peg 3 and opted to fish maggot shallow before switching to his edge for the final ninety (90) minutes to weigh in 14-01-00 of mainly roach in among a large number of carp to chalk up another consistent performance and a handy second place finish - the second in as many rounds.

Third place was taken by Dan Hart from peg 7 to record an equally consistent performance to finish the day with 13-06-00 of mainly roach taken on maggot fished up in the water.
