Wolverley AC, Woodside Pool

The tale end of two storms in as many days put most of the anglers off attending this latest club fixture on Woodside pool with gale force winds making fishing on the day very difficult.

However, match winner Paul Brookes managed to find the fish huddled down the edge on peg 15. Offering maggot and caster down his left hand margin for the duration of the match, Paul was able to take full advantage of a good sized shoal of carp sheltering from the wind including some real lumps. Upon the scales making their way round, Paul confirmed a final weight of 70-13-00 leaving the rest of the field in his dust.

Second place on the day was Richard Marks from peg 1. Opting to fish worm down his edge, Richard found mostly carp to offer 38-12-00 to the scales.

Third place was taken by Scott Garrington, who drew peg 22. Doing his best to stay out of the wind, Scott fished maggot and pellet down his edge but struggled to get into his normal rhythm ending the day with 32-10-00.
