Saturday 14th February saw round two of our silverfish league take place with eight (8) anglers pegged on Woodside pool.
A hard frost during the night before the match left some feeling a little less than optimistic after the decent weights recorded during round one but those concerns were soon put to rest with the standard of fishing being very similar again with plenty of quality roach gracing anglers nets. Plus, as an added bonus, it stayed dry!
A SECTION
(pegs 7, 8, 10 & 12)
Topping A section on the day was Warren Jennings. The former Preston rod drew peg 12 and alternated between pinkie fished shallow at 8-9m and maggot short to find good stamp roach in numbers as well as skimmer bream to weigh in 14-02-00.

Finishing second in section was Dan Hart. Dan drew peg 8 opposite the island and opted to fish caster shallow to end the match with 12-12-00 and a useful two (2) points.
Third in section was Jeff Rush from peg 10 with 07-03-00.
ANGLER | PEG | WEIGHT | METHOD | PTS |
W. Jennings | 12 | 14-02-00 | Pinkie shallow & maggot short | 1 |
D. Hart | 8 | 12-12-00 | Caster shallow | 2 |
J. Rush | 10 | 07-03-00 | 3 | |
J. Latham | 7 | 00-08-00 |
B SECTION
(pegs 14, 16, 18 & 20)
Winner of B section was Max Galaszewski from peg 16. Max started his match fishing caster short on the deck before going long offering maggot up in the water to find quality roach as well as some decent skimmers and a couple of bonus perch to offer 17-09-00 to the scales. This was enough not only to give Max an all important section win, but it was also enough to pick up the overall lake win as well.

Runner-up in section B on the day was local man Dan Bache. Dan drew peg 20 and fished caster shallow for most of the match to weigh in 13-03-00 to pick up two (2) points.
Third on the day went to Paul Cook from peg 14. Paul, by his own admission, got a few things wrong on this latest round weighing in 09-00-00 of mainly roach to drop a few points.
ANGLER | PEG | WEIGHT | METHOD | PTS |
M. Galaszewski | 16 | 17-09-00 | Caster short & maggot long | 1 |

Despite a cold start, anglers weights were, once again, pretty decent with a good stamp of roach making up most of the top weights.
Congratulations to both Warren Jennings and Max Galaszewski on winning their respective sections and scoring a perfect single point each as well as each picking up £20. Warren's perfect record to date sees him sitting pretty at the top of the table, but with little to no weight advantage despite two great performances. Max sits just a point behind Warren with a slightly superior cumulative effort, but he cannot afford to take his eye off Dan Hart, who is breathing down his neck, plus Paul Cook is still in the mix despite dropping a couple of places after round two.
Well done to all other competitors on the day. Round three takes place on Saturday February 28th.
