Cookley Eagles, Woodside Pool

A decent turn out saw seventeen anglers line the muddy banks of Woodside pool. A cold start with a heavy frost was expected to result in bites being hard to come by, but the carp showed in numbers producing some much better weights than in previous weeks.

Winner on the day was Rob Cox. Fishing from peg 9 round the back of the island, Rob caught most of his fish up in the water on pellet to weigh in a match-winning 75-10-00.

Finishing close behind in second place was Matt Dawkins from neighbouring peg 10 on the point of the island. Matt opted to fish the pellet waggler to find carp in numbers just off the willow tree to end proceedings with 72-08-00.

Third place was secured by Andy Pitt from peg 14 on the dam wall. Starting his match fishing maggot on the pole, Andy enjoyed some good sport from smaller fish, but soon changed tact when he noticed fish being caught shallow elsewhere on the lake. A quick change to the pellet waggler resulted in quality carp coming to the net boosting his overall weight to 63-07-00.

Simon West finished in fourth place from peg 21 with 45-06-00 of quality carp caught late on maggot fished down his edge.
