Wordesley Lions, Woodside Pool

Seventeen anglers from Wordesley Lions lined the banks of Woodside pool for this latest Saturday club match. Conditions on the day were bright, but very cold with a chilly NW wind making things feel cold for the time of year.

Topping the field and taking individual honours was Mal Cooke, who drew peg 10 on the point of the island. Opting to fish corn short at 6m for most of the match, Mal found small carp in numbers to put 72-04-00 on to the scales at the end of the five hours.

Ben Cooke finished in second place from neighbouring peg 12. Like Mal, Ben fished corn short at 6m to weigh in 63-13-00.

Third place on the day was taken by Ray Moss. Ray drew peg 20 and caught mainly carp with a few F1s on banded 6mm hard pellet fished to depth for a final weight of 47-14-00.
