Fourteen (14) anglers attended this special charity fund raising event in aid of the Midlands Air Ambulance. The event, ran and organised by Worcester Angling Centre's Gary Hickton, is now in its third year, but this year was its first here at Woodside Fishery.
Anglers were pegged across both Woodside and Island pools meaning everyone had plenty of room.
Winner on the day was Carl Hodges, who drew peg 21 on Woodside pool. Fishing pellet over groundbait down his right hand edge and caster and dead maggot down his left hand edge, Carl was able to keep a good stamp of fish up to 10lb coming to the net for most of the five hours to weigh in 94-08-00.
Runner-up on the day was taken by Darren Fisher. Darren drew peg 19 on Island pool and opted to fish corn to the left and right of his staging to find mainly carp with odd roach and skimmers. Darren finished the day with 82-04-00 to confirm a lake win from an area which doesn't normally feature in matches so a top effort!
Rounding off the top three finish on the day was Mark Smith. Mark drew peg 3 on Woodside pool and caught down his inside to offer a final 61-04-00 to the scales to just sneak inside the last of the payout places.
Finishing in fourth place was Andy Allard from peg 8 on Woodside pool. Fishing a method feeder down his inside with 6mm banded hard pellet on the hook, Andy found carp to 8lb to weigh in 50-02-00.
Well done to everyone that took part and a special thanks to Gary for giving Woodside the opportunity to host a great event for a very worthwhile cause.
In all, over £400 was raised for the Midlands Air Ambulance!
