Fourteen (14) anglers from Old Hill Legion attended this Saturday club match on the Island pool. Conditions on the day saw bright sunshine with hardly a cloud in the sky.
Topping the field was Tye Hayes, who drew peg 2. Fishing the method feeder with corn on the hook down his edge for the majority of the match, Tye was able to find a regular good stamp of fish to end the day with a match winning 64-01-00 of carp and big F1s.
Dave Lewis finished close behind in second place from peg 17. Not an area that is normally pegged, Dave fished an extremely tidy match but struggled to keep a number of large fish out of the localised snags in his swim. Most of Dave's catch fell to corn fished over the top of dead red maggot earning him a hard fought 57-06-00.
Rounding off the main frame finish on the day was Phil Phillips from neighbouring peg 16. Alternating between corn and pellet hookbaits down his edges, Phil found mostly carp to weigh in 41-03-00.
