Shropshire Anglers, Woodside Pool

Eleven (11) anglers attended this first of two club matches for Shropshire Anglers here at Woodside for the 2026 season.

Winner on the day was Dave Miles, who drew peg 12. Offering double corn down his edge over fishery micro pellets mixed with groundbait, Dave enjoyed a late run of fish to end proceedings with 31-15-00 to confirm a narrow victory.

Finishing close behind in second place was Phil Archer, who drew neighbouring peg 14. Again, an out and out margin assault with both pellets and corn resulted in 27-13-00 of mostly carp.

Third place on the day was awarded to Matty Norman from peg 22. Starting his match on expanders short, Matt found some quality silverfish before looking down his edge later on with corn over groundbait to get among some better stamp fish to weigh in a final 18-07-00.
