Wordsley Lions AC, Woodside & Island Pools

A lower than anticipated turnout saw just ten (10) anglers from Wordsley Lions attend this latest Sunday club match pegged across both Woodside and Island pools. Given the low numbers, anglers had plenty of room regardless of which lake they drew, but that said, fishing on the day still proved difficult.

WOODSIDE

Comfortable winner overall on Woodside pool was Andrew Rich, who drew peg 3 close to the point of the island. Andrew opted to fish the pellet waggler for the duration of the match to end the day with 78-08-00 of carp, including some real quality fish.

Finishing in second place was Carl Rolands from peg 8. Fishing a long pole over to the island with pelley, Carl struggled to tempt the carp patrolling the far side shelg ending the day with a modest 24-04-00.

Third place on the day was taken by Carl Griffiths, who drew peg 12. Again, Carl struggled to find the resident carp in any numbers weighing in a final 24-02-00.

ISLAND

Winner overall on Island pool was Neil Rock, who drew peg 2. Opting to alternate between maggot and pellet hookbaits long down his edge line, Neil struggled to find the fish much to everyone's surprise. Come the end of the five hours, Neil offered a very modest 36-15-00 to the scales to confirm a narrow victory.

Finishing close behing in second place on the day was Paul Hartland from peg 14. Paul started his match fishing up in the water for silverfish, managing an impressive haul of roach, rudd and skimmer bream before switching to his left hand edge with maggot to offer a final 36-01-00 to the scales.

Third place on the day was taken by Dave Bowyer, who drew peg 15. Dave fished both the long pole and feeder to the island with hard pellet to weigh in 23-04-00.
