Ten (10) anglers from Bell Otters AC attended this latest Saturday club match held on Woodside pool. Winner on the day was Giuseppe Ancampora, who drew peg 3. Fishing corn on both his short line and down his edge over fishery micro pellets, Giuseppe managed to find a number of decent fish as well as a handful of roach and skimmers to offer a match-winning 48-07-00 to the scales. Finishing in second place was Keith Russell, who drew peg 10 on the opposite point of the island.

Wordsley Lions AC, Woodside & Island Pools
A lower than anticipated turnout saw just ten (10) anglers from Wordsley Lions attend this latest Sunday club match pegged across both Woodside and Island pools. Given the low numbers, anglers had plenty of room regardless of which lake they drew, but that said, fishing on the day still proved difficult. Eleven (11) anglers attended this first of two club matches for Shropshire Anglers here at Woodside for the 2026 season. Winner on the day was Dave Miles, who drew peg 12. Nine (9) anglers attended this first club match of the 2026 season with anglers pegged down on Woodside pool. Conditions were, once again, a bit of a mixed bag with a chilly start, rain and hail mid-match followed by periods of bright sunshine as the match drew to a close. Match Angler Of The Year, Woodside & Island Pools
The third annual Match Angler Of The Year Final took place on Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th March with the 2025 qualification period producing a twenty-strong field for this year's final. To qualify for the final, anglers had to either (a) win two club matches, open matches or special events, or (b) weigh in over 100lbs over a maximum of two matches.
